Create your organisation and start the free trial.
The free trial lasts 30 days and covers up to 50 devices. Stripe takes a card or SEPA Direct Debit when the trial starts, and charges nothing until it ends.
Create your organisation
Under Your organisation's name, enter the name your clients know you by.
Enter your work email and select Send sign-up code. Or select Continue with Microsoft or Continue with Google, where the page shows them.
If you chose email, enter the code from your inbox.
You are the organisation's first admin.
One account can create 3 organisations a day, and one network 10. Past that, nothing is created and the sign-in page shows Too many new organisations today.
Start the trial
On Welcome to Lodestar:
Check the organisation name. You can rename it later in Settings. If no name shows, enter one under Organisation name.
Tick the box to accept the terms of service and the privacy notice on behalf of your organisation.
Select Start free trial. Stripe Checkout opens on the monthly plan.
In Stripe Checkout, give a card or set up SEPA Direct Debit. Nothing is charged until the trial ends.
Lodestar opens as soon as the trial starts, on New client, ready for you to add your first client.
To pay yearly instead, leave Checkout without finishing it. Billing then offers Start free trial: monthly, or Devices for a year (at least 20) and Start free trial: yearly. See Billing.
Until an admin has finished these steps, everyone else sees Almost there and cannot use the console.
Every new organisation is set up for an MSP: each organisation you look after is a client. Your own company can be a client too. See Add a client.
If Panoptic has arranged your trial
If your email domain is on Panoptic's trial list, Welcome to Lodestar says no payment details are needed. Checkout then asks only for your billing address. Only the first organisation from each domain gets this.
Add a payment method under Billing before the trial ends to keep using Lodestar. See Billing.
If you have had a trial before
The free trial is one per person. If you, or another admin of your organisation, have signed in to another Lodestar organisation that has had a trial or a subscription, there is no trial.
Welcome to Lodestar says so, and the button reads Continue to payment. Billing starts straight away, monthly.
During the trial
- New devices can enrol until the trial's 50-device limit is reached.
- A device that is already enrolled can always re-enrol, so a reinstall never counts twice.
- Retiring a device frees its place.
- From 7 days before the end, a banner counts down the days.
When the trial ends, your plan starts and Stripe charges the payment method you gave.
To pay nothing, cancel under Manage billing on the Billing page before the trial ends. See Billing.
