Deploy the agent

Uninstall

Remove Lodestar from a device, from the console or on the device.

From the console

Admins can uninstall Lodestar from a device's page. The agent removes itself the next time the device is online, then the device is retired. See Uninstall Lodestar.

This works on Macs and Windows PCs. On Linux the agent refuses the request, and the device stays in the console.

On a Mac

In Terminal, as an admin:

sudo /Applications/Lodestar.app/Contents/MacOS/lodestar-agent uninstall

This removes the agent, its background items, the network monitor, the app, its settings and its logs.

Removing the network monitor needs someone logged in. If nobody is, it is removed at the next restart.

On Windows

Uninstall Lodestar Agent from Settings > Apps, or with your RMM or MDM.

This removes the service, its settings, the device secret and the logs.

Stop reporting without uninstalling

On a Mac, lodestar-agent unenrol stops the agent reporting but leaves the app installed. Retire the device in the console too, to remove it from the dashboard.

If an MDM or RMM deployed Lodestar, remove the assignment, the profile or the scheduled job too. Otherwise Lodestar is installed again.
