By hand
Install Lodestar from the installer file, then enrol the device.
Download the installer from the Install Lodestar card on the client's Enrolment tab. Select Lodestar <version> for macOS or Lodestar <version> for Windows. The button always gives the current release.
Mac
Open Lodestar-<version>.pkg and install it. Lodestar always installs in Applications.
In Terminal, as an admin, run the enrol command the console shows:
sudo /Applications/Lodestar.app/Contents/MacOS/lodestar-agent enrol --server https://console.lodestarapp.ai --token <token>Approve the network monitor. See The Mac network monitor.
The Mac sends its first report straight away.
Windows
In the folder with the installer, run this in a Command Prompt as administrator. Replace VERSION with the installer's version.
msiexec /i Lodestar-Agent-VERSION.msi /qn SERVER=https://console.lodestarapp.ai TOKEN=<token>The agent installs as the Lodestar Agent service, enrols, and deletes the token from the device.
Updates
Once installed, Lodestar updates itself while agent updates are on. See Agent updates.
